Cher Sues UMG
According to both Contactmusic.com and The Hollywood Reporter, Cher has sued the American record label Universal Music Group (UMG) for $5 million US Dollars.
On Tuesday June 2, when the case was filed at Los Angeles Superior Court, Cher claimed that the $5 million US Dollars is royalties that UMG owes her for songs that she recorded with her former husband Sonny Bono, and which have been used on various complication albums since.
From 2000 to 2003, Cher claims that UMG hold back her royalties for songs, made by Sonny and her, which figured on two complication albums. It is the albums "The Greatest Hits" and "The Very Best of Cher".
In the source articles you can read more in detail what the case is about. It seems a little complicated, but I'll follow it closely.
