Wrong Number
God knows I'm not the kind to look for trouble
And if I ever see it coming be sure I'll step aside
But if I knew then what I know now, you'd hate me
I'd stay in bed all day and try to hide
I guess you could say it was a day like any other
The sun was out and I was feeling fine
The telephone rang and it was a wrong number
That's exactly what I told the fellow on the line
Now don't ask me how one thing led to another
Me and that guy we talked for a long, long time
By the time I finally put down my reciever
I knew his name, and size, and shape and he knew mine
Wouldn't you know we rendezvoused that evening
I was in love before I hit the chair
Oh, he was tall, and tanned, a blue eyed golden angel
I was mesmerized and all I did was stared
Turns out he was a very talent fellow
He was married and he had a lover too
Cause his wife got smart and found out all about them
He saved my life he used a decoy, you guessed who
Every story has some kind of ending
Yes this story has an ending too
But it's long and wrong and very complicated
So I guess I'll leave the ending up to you
